Assistant Professor

Anutosh Das is an Early Career Researcher and Urban Planner turned climate enthusiast passionate about research in climate change issues and their impacts on the environment. As a researcher and practitioner, he wishes to comprehend the interplay between haphazard urban growth and the environmental Sustainability of cities from a global, inclusive standpoint. Mr Das started his career as an Academician at the Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh in 2016 where he rose through the academic ranks to his current position. He is a graduate of Urban Planning from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and earned an MSc. degree in Urban Planning from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) as an ADB-JSP Fellow. To highlight his vivid professional career, he is an affiliated member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) as well as a Member of the Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP). He is an Editorial Board Member of the Planning and Development, Journal of the Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP) and a Member of the exquisite Regional Science Association International (RSAI). As an interdisciplinary researcher, he is predominantly interested in effecting positive change globally in cities and urban environments. Mr Das’s research interests are diverse but all revolve around Climate Change Vulnerability Analysis, Mitigation and Adaptation Planning with a core focus on Green Growth, The Economics of Climate Change, Natural Resource Management and Regional Econometric Analysis. His related research at the intersection of Urban Planning and Natural Resource management has been published in top policy, economics and urban studies journals. His profound academic and professional background focuses on the sound assimilation of the global economic and socio-political context in addressing evidence-based solutions for congruent urban development. His research mainly seeks to address how Economic Tools and Policy Instruments can mainstream governance issues as an adaptive measure toward global climate change.
